The Palisades Park Public Library was founded in 1917 by Lena Harvey Tracy, a resident of Palisades Park. She started the Library with only 50 books. Today, 100 years later, the Library’s collection includes over 60,000 items and we provided access to thousands more thanks to BCCLS.
The Palisades Park Public Library’s mission is to provide our public with insight to enrich mind and spirit, and encourage a lifetime love of learning. We aim to inform, educate, and enrich our community through inclusion of diversities and commonalities. The Library places special emphasis on guiding young people toward a love of reading and an awareness of books and other library resources as a means of satisfying their needs and interests. The Library has a strong commitment to intellectual freedom and the freedom to access information.
